Changing AIS static info through MFD

I have a new used boat w an FA50 AIS.

Need to change MMSI and Boat Name.

I was told this could be done through the MFD and no need to log onto the unit itself w a pc.

Is this true? I see nothing in the manual about it

Accessing the FA50 is covered by para 1.20 in the MFD Operator's manual. Once in the FA50 settings you go to Initial setup - Ship static Edit. Login is fa50 (furunoservice) and the password is fa50 (lower case)
